Women pathologists are always busy people, but this should not mean that they are allowed to look like plain Jane’s. Make up is every girl’s best friend and it also helps in concealing some imperfections raising your confidence as you work. You do not have to attend a class on how to wear your make up. Here are some basic tips that you should bear in mind when applying makeup.
Give yourself enough time
Nothing spells make up disaster than being in a rush and not knowing exactly what you are doing. Make up application is a skill, and just like all the other skills, it will take you some bit of time to perfect it. If you have to do your make up before going to work, wake up some minutes earlier so that you have enough time to correctly do your make up.
Apply makeup on a clean face
Make up will look its best on skin that is clean. Wash your face 30 minutes before you start wearing makeup. This will allow your face to relax after washing. It will also let your pores close back and allow your skin tone to go back to its normal shade and tone. Avoid harsh scrubs because they let make up and oils get into the pores which results in breakouts.
Choose a well lit place to do your make up
Always choose a place that has enough lighting to do your make up. When you are able to see what you are doing, you will be able to apply your make up in a cleaner way. If you make up yourself in dim light, you may end up looking like a painted clown once you step into a bright place. Wear your make up in a well light area and then check it in dimmer lights if you will be working in a place that is darker.
Skin tone, type and foundation
Foundation evens out skin tone. If you choose the right foundation for your skin type and tone, it enhances your looks and it’s literally invisible. The wrong foundations for you can wreak havoc in your life. If you have oily skin, choose a powder foundation with a shade that complements your skin tone. Apply the powder foundation with a foundation brush or a triangle sponge. This is one of the hardest parts of applying makeup, so take your time and do not be in a rush. Use circular motions to blend the foundation on your face with soft strokes and repeat for medium to full coverage. Do not forget to blend it on your neck and outwards towards the ears lest you look like a clown!
When it comes to eye makeup please do not overdo it. For a day look, put eyeliner on just a third of the lower lash line. Blend and soften your eyeliner with finger tips. Dark and bold eye lines are best for night times.
The best lipstick should be like foundation: people do not notice that you are actually wearing it. Pick a lipstick that is like your own lip color but a little darker to bring a realistic yet subtle effect.
Just remember that when doing make up less is more. Applying less make up is better than applying a lot.
